The Morrigan Academy on Tour – A St. Patrick’s Season to Remember

As the echoes of reels and jigs settle and the last taps of our hard shoes fade into memory, we look back on what has been an extraordinary St. Patrick’s season for The Morrigan Academy of Irish Dance. It’s been a whirlwind of music, laughter, and joyful celebration as we brought the spirit of Ireland to pubs, schools, and care homes across the region.

Our journey began with a lively afternoon at The Wyvern Pub in Church Crookham, where we kicked off our tour with high spirits and an even higher tempo. Next, we brought the rhythm of Ireland to The Six Bells in Farnham.

From there, we travelled to The Royal Oak in Bracknell, where the welcome was as hearty as the Guinness and the joy of Irish dance filled every corner of the pub. We continued on to The Tradesman Arms in Farnborough, where the sense of community made the night especially memorable.

Our pub tour concluded on a high at The Snow Goose in Farnborough, our final stop and a brilliant finale. Huge thanks to Kate and her team for helping us end the tour with such a vibrant, festive atmosphere.

But our journey didn’t stop at the pubs. We had the privilege of performing at Heatherside Infant and Junior Schools in Fleet, where the joy and curiosity of the children made for a truly magical experience. Watching their faces light up as they experienced Irish dance—some for the first time—was a moment we’ll always treasure.

We were also honored to visit several local care homes, where our performances brought back memories, sparked conversation, and lifted spirits. Bringing joy to those who can no longer get out to see live events is something we take great pride in.

This season reminded us once again that dance transcends age, background, and setting—it brings people together. From pub floors to school halls and care home lounges, we’re incredibly proud of what our dancers shared with the community this year.

Thank you to everyone who hosted us, cheered us on, and helped make this tour unforgettable. We’re already dreaming up what next year will bring!

Lord of the Dance

We had the incredible opportunity to take 17 enthusiastic students to see "Lord of the Dance" at the Woking Theatre.

Before the show began, we had the amazing chance to meet the main stars of the performance. Our students were absolutely thrilled to chat with these talented dancers. The dancers shared their insights about the dedication and hard work that goes into their craft, inspiring our students to pursue their own passions with enthusiasm.

As the lights dimmed and the first notes of music filled the air, we were transported into a world of breathtaking dance and captivating storytelling. The performers brought the stage to life with their energy, precision, and passion, showcasing a stunning blend of traditional Irish dance with modern flair.

We are excited to share that we have officially joined hitched.co.uk!

Following the tremendous success of our recent wedding performance, we are eager to expand our horizons and bring our dance experience to even more weddings and events.

Our team is dedicated to providing unforgettable entertainment that adds joy and energy to your special day.

Stay tuned for more updates and information about our upcoming performances and availability. We can't wait to celebrate with you and create memorable moments through dance!

15th June 2024 - Rush! Creative Collection

The students put on an amazing show at the Rush! It was a creative collection of dance troupes and academies from the local area at Aldershot Princess Hall.

The students performed twice in front of an excited crowd, showcasing their Irish dancing style.

They were warmly received and truly lived their best lives, even having their own dressing rooms.

It was a fantastic opportunity for them to showcase their talent and passion for dance, and they did not disappoint. The energy and excitement from the crowd made the performances even more special, and the students should be proud of the amazing job they did.

The Morrigan Academy of Irish Dance has achieved a significant milestone as it is now featured in the School Section in the renowned Irish Dance Magazine, a publication that reaches audiences worldwide.

This exciting news is expected to have a transformative effect on our dance school, as it will undoubtedly expand our horizons within the dance community and create new opportunities for growth and recognition.

Being showcased in such a prestigious magazine will not only increase our visibility on an international scale but also attract potential students and collaborators who are passionate about Irish dance.

Hopefully one day we will have write ups on our very own students.
